Shaping how Independent artists release, market and grow their music globally.
Sarah Hamilton is one of Australia’s most respected voices in digital music strategy, artist development, and industry leadership. With nearly two decades shaping how independent artists release, market, and grow their music globally, Sarah brings a rare combination of technical expertise, cultural advocacy, and deep industry insight. As the founder of Golden Hour Music Consulting, Sarah works directly with artists, labels, managers, and creative teams to build powerful release strategies, DSP plans, and global growth pathways. Golden Hour has partnered with major clients including The Annex (Tash Sultana, Genesis Owusu, Royel Otis, De La Soul, Usher, Mom + Pop, UNIFIED), as well as independent artists like Ashwarya, NAOMI, Ryan Downey, Jess Ribeiro, MXNROe, True Vibenation, and more. She also served as an Industry Consultant for BIGSOUND 2023, reinforcing her reputation as a go-to strategist for emerging and established talent. Before launching Golden Hour, Sarah spent nine years as the Regional Manager for Ditto Music (Australia & New Zealand), helping thousands of independent artists navigate global digital distribution. Overseeing strategy for a company servicing 500,000+ artists worldwide, she led platinum and gold-certified campaigns, expanded Ditto’s footprint across the Asia-Pacific region, and supported ARIA Award–winning acts in building international momentum across DSPs such as Spotify and Apple Music. A passionate advocate for gender equity in the music industry, Sarah is also the Co-Founder of One of One—a groundbreaking organisation spotlighting women and gender-nonconforming professionals across Australia. One of One hosts major International Women’s Day events in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Darwin, and soon Brisbane, and has become one of Australia's most influential platforms for representation and community building. Her industry impact has been widely recognised: Sarah has appeared twice in The Music’s Power 50 and received the inaugural Music Victoria Award for Outstanding Woman in Music. Across her career, Sarah has become a sought-after speaker and educator, presenting at more than 30 major conferences, tertiary programs, and workshops including BIGSOUND, IndieCon, The Seed, Changes, Face the Music, APRA AMCOS, Creative Mornings, Women in Music Production Summit, The Push, Melbourne Jazz Festival, The Hip Hop University, JMC Academy, RMIT, SAE, and international events such as Ditto X (London) and Trade Mission (Seoul). With expertise spanning DSP strategy, release planning, playlisting, marketing, metadata, social amplification, international growth, artist advocacy, and community leadership, Sarah empowers artists and industry professionals to take control of their careers in an evolving digital world. Her approach is grounded, generous, and practical — shaped by years of hands-on experience supporting independent musicians at every stage. Originally from Queensland and now based in Melbourne’s west, Sarah is equally at home giving high-level strategic guidance as she is discussing the newest neo-soul releases or her love of Dolly Parton. As a mentor, Sarah offers clarity, confidence, and a trusted roadmap through the complexities of the modern music landscape — making her one of the most valuable guides for any artist or creative professional looking to grow globally and sustainably.
